I always like to watch the Gymnastics. I can remember being younger and eagerly waiting for it to come on. I would get all pumped up watching the flipping and running. I would end up doing handstands and such in my living room in front of the TV... thank goodness I never fell into the screen! Although I did acquire some bruises while watching this event it was always so much fun. I still watch it whenever it's on but refrain from any urge to get up and mimic the movements.

Crew! It's so underrated. It's one of the only sports where every single person on the team must be in perfect synch or the boat won't fly. (Synchronized swimming is probably the next most precision/ synch-required sport, but crew probably requires more of a powerhouse.) Of course I'm biased as I was a coxswain. Teehee.

Oh wait I say that because I do those. But seriously- triathlon is one of the sports where it's not about everyone else you're against and is all about pushing yourself.

But I also am tickled pink that open water swimming is showing up in this Olympics. That's a case where it has more to do with how well you can deal with the water itself than the other people.

I love the gymnastics. It never fails to amaze me to see these young girls perform feats which I would never dream doing. I love the determination and when one of them wins the gold medal and is on the podium as the American flag goes up along with our anthem, it always puts a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. My family has followed the US Women's Soccer team since the mid-1990s. We traveled to San Diego to see them play Ireland two years ago and it was a great experience. We feel like we know them, and it is worth getting up at 2AM to watch a game.

as a swimmer i love watching the swimming events. they make me wish i never quit my swim team, but i guess getting into college is more important! haha.
